Hans Witsenboer: A Message from The CEO
There is no “starting your own IT Outsourcing Company for Dummies”, and it is my pleasure to add my two pence’s.
So when you wake up in the morning with the idea: “Let’s start my own IT Outsourcing Company”. What should you do? My suggestion would be: go back to sleep first, since you might not be able to sleep for a long time.
Still there? Good. Next thing to decide is whether you want to be more of the same, or if you want to make a difference. My advice to the first group is to forget about it, and join one of the many other players out there. It is a lot easier to copy when you’re part of them.
Ah, you want to make a difference: good choice. But eh…, to whom? Indeed: who are you going to do a favor, starting your outsourcing business. Who have been waiting all those years, for you to decide to finally do it? So, we are back at differentiation.
Let’s try another angle: IT Outsourcing, but with what services are we going to start? Maybe the question should be: with what can we start? Remember SOA? You can never offer more services in the front, than you can service from the back.
So, now we’re talking. Capabilities, or more simple: People. How many, Where, What are they capable of and What do they cost? By the way: for those who believe in the Chinese saying: I wish you many employees, it is better to find something else to do as a business.
We have run the circle people-service-customers many times. We found a combination that adds, that is different. Of course you can try to copy, but if you like our model, you are also more than welcome to join!
